Why Are We Here? Christians believe that our purpose in life is rooted in a relationship with God. According to biblical teachings, we are here to love and worship God, to serve others, and to fulfill the unique calling and purpose that God has placed on each individual’s life.
True Identity in Christ: As Christians, our true identity is found in our relationship with Jesus Christ. When we accept Christ into our lives, we become new creations, and our identity is transformed. Our identity is no longer defined by worldly standards, but by our connection with Christ.
Bible Verse: 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
This verse emphasizes the transformative power of being in Christ. It signifies that our identity is renewed, and we are no longer bound by our past, sins, or worldly definitions. Instead, we find our true identity in being part of God’s redemptive work through Christ.
The purpose of life, as outlined in the Bible, is to love and serve God. A concise Bible verse that captures this idea is found in the Gospel of Matthew:
Bible Verse: Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)
“Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'”
This verse encapsulates the essence of life’s purpose — to love and prioritize a relationship with God and, in turn, to express that love through compassion and service to others.
Success in life, from a biblical perspective, is not solely measured by worldly achievements but by living in alignment with God’s purposes. In the eyes of God, true success is found in a relationship with Him, following His commandments, and serving others selflessly.
Bible Verse: Joshua 1:8 (NIV)
“Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
This verse from Joshua emphasizes that success comes from aligning our lives with God’s Word. True success is not merely material wealth or fame but encompasses a life lived in obedience to God’s principles, characterized by love, righteousness, and a commitment to His ways. In the pursuit of godly success, we find fulfillment and purpose that goes beyond worldly measures.
ክርስቶስ የሰጠንን መረዳት ለክርስትና እምነት መሰረት ነው። የክርስቲያን እምነት ዋና ክፍል በኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በኩል የመዳን ጽንሰ-ሐሳብ ነው። ይህ የኃጢያት ስርየትን፣ ከእግዚአብሔር ጋር መታረቅን እና የዘላለምን ህይወት ስጦታን ያጠቃልላል።
የመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ቁጥር፡ ዮሐንስ 3፡16
” በእርሱ የሚያምን ሁሉ የዘላለም ሕይወት እንዲኖረው እንጂ እንዳይጠፋ እግዚአብሔር አንድያ ልጁን እስኪሰጥ ድረስ ዓለሙን እንዲሁ ወዶአልና።”
ይህ ጥቅስ ክርስቶስ ለሰው ልጆች ያዘጋጀውን ጥልቅ ስጦታ ያጠቃልላል። በመስዋዕታዊ ፍቅሩ፣ ኢየሱስ በእርሱ በማመን ለሁሉም ሰው የዘላለም ሕይወትን እንዲያገኝ እድል ይሰጣል። የመዳን ስጦታ ሁሉም ከእርሱ ጋር መታረቅን እንዲለማመዱ የሚጋብዝ ወሰን የለሽ የእግዚአብሔር ፍቅር እና ጸጋ ማሳያ ነው። ክርስቶስ የሰጠንን መረዳት የመሥዋዕቱን የመለወጥ ኃይል መቀበል እና የፍቅሩን እና የቤዛነቱን ሕይወት የሚቀይር ተጽእኖ መቀበልን ያካትታል።
እግዚአብሔር በሰጠን ነገር ወደ ፊት መሄድ እና ፍሬያማ መሆን በክርስቲያናዊ ጉዞ ውስጥ ዋና ጭብጥ ነው። እግዚአብሔር የጠራን የእርሱን በረከቶች እንድንቀበል ብቻ ሳይሆን በህይወታችን ፍሬ እንድናፈራ፣ ፍቅሩን፣ ባህሪውን እና በዙሪያችን ባለው አለም ላይ ተጽእኖ በማሳደር ነው።
የመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ጥቅስ: ዮሐንስ 15:5 (NIV)
” እኔ የወይን ግንድ ነኝ እናንተም ቅርንጫፎች ናችሁ በእኔ ብትኖሩ እኔም በእናንተ ብዙ ፍሬ ታፈራላችሁ ከእኔ በቀር ምንም ልታደርጉ አትችሉም።”
ዮሐንስ 15፡5 የአማኞችን ዘይቤ ከክርስቶስ፣ ከወይኑ ጋር የተገናኙ ቅርንጫፎች መሆናቸውን ያሳያል። ከእርሱ ጋር የጠበቀ ግንኙነት መኖራችን በፍቅር፣ በደግነት፣ በልግስና እና በተለወጠ ህይወት ፍሬ እንድናፈራ ያስችለናል። የእግዚአብሔር ሥጦታዎች ለመቆም የታሰቡ አይደሉም; ይልቁንም ፍሬያማ ኑሮ የሚሆን ዘር ናቸው። በእምነት ወደ ፊት ስንሄድ፣ ያለማቋረጥ በክርስቶስ እንኑር፣ ከእሱ ኃይልን እና ምሪትን እንሳብ፣ እናም ይህን በማድረግ፣ በተፈጥሮ የመንፈሱን ፍሬ እናፈራለን፣ በዙሪያችን ባለው አለም ላይ በጎ ተጽእኖን እናደርጋለን።
የታደሰ አእምሮ በክርስቲያናዊ ሥነ-መለኮት ውስጥ የሚለወጥ ጽንሰ-ሐሳብ ነው፣ ይህም የአመለካከት እና የአስተሳሰብ ለውጥን የሚያንፀባርቅ ከእግዚአብሔር እውነት ጋር የሚስማማ ነው። ይህ መታደስ የግንዛቤ ለውጥ ብቻ ሳይሆን ከእግዚአብሔር ጋር ባለው ጥልቅ ግንኙነት እና በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ማደሪያ የሚመጣ መንፈሳዊ ለውጥ ነው።
የመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ጥቅስ: ወደ ሮሜ ሰዎች 12:2 (NIV)”በአእምሮአችሁ መታደስ ተለወጡ እንጂ የዚህን ዓለም ምሳሌ አትምሰሉ፡ የእግዚአብሔር ፈቃድ እርሱም በጎና ደስ የሚያሰኝ ፍጹምም ፈቃዱ ምን እንደ ሆነ ፈትናችሁ ታውቁታላችሁ።”
ሮሜ 12፡2 የታደሰ አእምሮን አስፈላጊነት ያጎላል። ይህ መታደስ የሚመጣው ከዓለማዊ ተጽእኖዎች በመመለስ እና እግዚአብሔር አስተሳሰባችንን እንደ እውነት እንዲለውጥ በመፍቀድ ነው። አእምሯችን ከእግዚአብሔር ፈቃድ ጋር ሲስማማ፣ ግልጽነት እና ማስተዋል እናገኛለን፣ ይህም እርሱን በሚያስደስት መንገድ እንድንኖር ያስችለናል። የታደሰ አእምሮ ወደ ተለወጠ ሕይወት ይመራል፣ በጥበብ፣ በፍቅር እና የእግዚአብሔርን ዓላማዎች በጥልቀት በመረዳት ይገለጻል። በእግዚአብሔር ቃል እና በሕይወታችን ውስጥ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ሥራ የሚመራ ቀጣይነት ያለው የእድገት እና የመቀደስ ሂደት ነው።
