In 2018, a small but fervent group within the Ethiopian and Eritrean community in London began meeting regularly for prayer and fellowship. United by a common heritage and a shared passion for worship, they sought a deeper connection with God and a meaningful sense of community within the diaspora.
During one of these prayer sessions, the group experienced a divine revelation that would shape the future of their spiritual journey. Inspired by the biblical account of Isaac’s servants digging a well in the valley and discovering fresh water (Genesis 26:22), the group embraced the vision that “Now the Lord has given us room, and we will flourish in the land.”
Motivated by this divine revelation, the community felt compelled to create a dedicated space for worship and spiritual growth. This marked the inception of Rehoboth Church London.
In the subsequent years, the vision evolved into a mission to foster a thriving spiritual community within the Ethiopian and Eritrean diaspora. Recognizing the importance of unity, diversity, and the transformative power of God’s grace, the community worked diligently to create an environment where individuals could flourish in their faith.
In alignment with their mission, Rehoboth Church London officially registered as a charity with the registration number 11822773. This step allowed them to formalize their commitment to serving the community, both spiritually and in practical ways, and to extend their reach to those seeking a welcoming space for spiritual nourishment.
As Rehoboth Church London continues to grow, the community remains dedicated to the foundational vision that God has provided them room to flourish. Through prayer, fellowship, and a commitment to their shared journey, they strive to embody the spirit of Rehoboth – a space where God’s people thrive and find abundant room for spiritual growth.
